Ashley Chu is a freelance curriculum developer and former early childhood and elementary teacher. She taught in Washington, DC for 10 years before moving back to her hometown of San Francisco, California. She has a master’s in education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. While a classroom teacher three years ago, she began working with TCM by editing Language Power. Since then, Ashley has written for Explore & Learn, completed standards alignment for Focused Phonics, and is currently working on Focused Math Intervention. Her professional interests include exploring how early literacy is essential to educational equity. She loves finding and sharing diverse children’s books that teach social justice themes. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and hiking.
