Teacher Created Materials' Founder Wins the Celebrate Literacy Award
Huntington Beach, CA, April 17, 2014 - Teacher Created Materials, an educational publisher in Huntington Beach, CA, is proud to announce that Founder Rachelle Cracchiolo has been presented the Celebrate Literacy Award from the Orange County Reading Association. The award is presented annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the promotion of literacy.
Rachelle founded Teacher Created Materials in 1977 and since then has published thousands of supplemental resources used in classrooms throughout the U.S. and in over 80 countries worldwide. The company's vision is to create a world in which children love to learn and everything is created by teachers for teachers and students.
Many of the products published by Teacher Created Materials have reading and literacy at their core, winning prestigious awards from groups such as the Association of Educational Publishers, Learning Magazine, and Instructor Magazine.
"Reading is the basis for all learning. We create materials to help teachers instill a love of reading in all of their students and to make the teaching of reading engaging and effective," said Ms. Cracchiolo. "Nothing is more inspirational than sparking a student's interest in reading and learning."
Rachelle was inducted into the Association of Educational Publishing's Hall of Fame, she has been recognized by her alma mater California State University Fullerton as one of their 50 Prominent Alumni, and she received the University's Vision and Visionaries Award.
Rachelle received both her B.A. in Psychology and her Masters of Science in Education degrees from California State Fullerton. Before founding Teacher Created Materials she taught Kindergarten through 6th Grade in the Fountain Valley School District for nine years. She is involved in the education community at both the local and national level. She works alongside her two daughters and she always makes time for her six grandchildren.
