HUNTINGTON BEACH -- June 22, 2010 -- Teacher Created Materials (TCM), a leading educational publisher, is pleased to announce the induction of its founder and Chief Executive Officer, Rachelle Cracchiolo, into the 2010 Educational Publishing Hall of Fame.
The 2010 Educational Publishing Hall of Fame is The Association of Educational Publishers' highest individual honor, which recognizes those who have "dedicated their careers to the advancement of educational resources and the industry that develops and supports them." Charlene Gaynor, CEO of The Association of Educational Publishers, says, "When I consider this year's inductees into the AEP Hall of Fame, all I can say is WOW. Their dedication to the education of children has me humbled. It is through individuals like these, and the companies they have created, that we can make such great strides in helping students meet and exceed their potential."
A dynamic leader of her family-owned business that began over 33 years ago with one simple idea, Rachelle spearheaded the growth and development of a thriving company that continues to play a pivotal role in the future of educational publishing. She has consistently led the company in the development of numerous award-winning products that have received such honors as the Golden Lamp Award and Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Educational Publishers. In addition to TCM, Rachelle also successfully launched Shell Education, an educational publishing company specializing in professional development resources, and oversaw Shell's expansion into multiple sales channels.
As a former educator herself, Rachelle is committed to helping teachers by making the development and distribution of high-quality content an ongoing priority. She is a lifelong teacher -- within the company, community and schools as well as a lifelong student -- learning from every teacher or administrator she meets and from every classroom she visits. Playing an active role in education has always been and will continue to be an important goal for Rachelle as she strives for excellence in education.
In addition to her roles as business owner and author, Rachelle previously served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Educational Publishers, is a member of the Advancement Board for the College of Education at California State University, Fullerton, and is very actively involved with her 5 grandchildren.
Rachelle has been honored for many professional and personal achievements including TCM's being named Small Business of the Year for California's 67th District in 2009. She was named one of California State University, Fullerton's 50 Prominent Alumni in 2008 and received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006 from the university's Vision & Visionaries Alumni Association.
