Teacher Created Materials and Shell Education boast honor as AEP 2009 Award Finalists!
Educational publishers, Teacher Created Materials and Shell Education, are proud to be honored as The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) 2009 Award Finalists for categories that include the Golden Lamp Award, Distinguished Achievement Award, and Beacon Award.
Huntington Beach, CA, April 17, 2009 -- The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) announced this week the highly-anticipated list of Award Finalists for 2009, which includes Teacher Created Materials (TCM) and Shell Education (SEP). Both publishers are no strangers to vying for these prestigious awards and are honored to be among the "best of the best" in educational publishing.
Teacher Created Materials is especially proud to vie for the most coveted of AEP’s awards, Golden Lamp, for Mathematics Readers, a resource that features high-interest, leveled nonfiction texts featuring key mathematical concepts, problem solving, computer-based games, and real-world connections to help in meaningful math exploration. TCM's podcast entry,Building Vocabulary, was honored as a finalist in the Beacon Award Webinar/Podcast category. The podcast features authors Nancy Padak, Rick Newton, and Evangeline Newton talking about the use of Greek and Latin word roots to successfully build students' vocabulary.
Recognized as a finalist of three Distinguished Achievement Awards, Shell Education boasts two resources selected in the Curriculum category. Reading and Writing Strategies for Mathematics, a finalist in Reading and Language Arts, this series is designed to help all students read, write, and understand mathematics content. In addition, Shell is a finalist in the Special Education category with Leveled Texts for Science: Earth & Space, Physical, and Life Science Series, which contains high-interest texts written at four reading levels with supporting student activities.
